PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a synthetic intermediate for producing an optical isomer of a condensed aromatic derivative which has amyloid β protein production / secretion inhibitory activity and is useful as an agent for preventing and treating Alzheimer's disease. . SOLUTION: The formula: [Wherein, ring A is an aromatic ring which may have a substituent, X is-(CH 2 ) 2 -,-(CH 2 ) 3- , -O- (CH 2 ) 2- , -O- CH 2- , -NR 1 -CH 2 -or -NR 1- (CH 2 ) 2- (R 1 is H, Alkyl, alkylcarbonyl or alkoxycarbonyl), m represents 1-3, and T represents hydroxy or acyl, respectively)] or a salt thereof in the presence of a transition metal-optically active phosphine complex. To give the formula [Wherein * represents the position of an asymmetric carbon atom, and the other symbols have the same meanings as described above]. |
