(57) [Problem] It is an object of the present invention to provide an industrially advantageous method for producing monosubstituted diols useful as an intermediate for medical and agricultural chemicals. SOLUTION: A hydroxyester is produced by reacting a diol and an acid halide with a dialkyldihalogenotin compound in the presence of an organic base or an inorganic base, if necessary, in a solvent. |
