PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of unreacted monomers that can be used with utility mainly in the field of pharmaceuticals, particularly in the field of ship drugs. An odorless soluble acrylic acid-based granular polymer is provided. SOLUTION: A mixture of an acrylic acid monomer, hypophosphorous acid or a salt thereof and a water-soluble radical polymerization catalyst is dropped into a solvent containing a nonionic surfactant having an HLB of 10 or less and subjected to reverse phase suspension polymerization, The obtained granular slurry of the polymer is subjected to solid-liquid separation, and the solid is dried to obtain a soluble acrylic acid-based granular polymer. |
