SOLUTION: A β-lactam amino compound represented by the general formula (1) is reacted with nitrite or nitrite in water in a slurry dispersion state in water in the presence of a halogen molecule under acidic conditions to obtain a compound of the general formula (4) A method for producing a halogenated β-lactam compound, characterized by obtaining a halogenated β-lactam compound represented by the formula: Embedded image [N shows the integer of 0-2.
