abstract | (57) [Summary] (Modified) [PROBLEMS] To provide a method for forming a film on a metal surface which does not use phosphorus or a chromium compound and does not generate sludge and has excellent corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: Degreasing, pretreatment with an oxycarboxylic acid compound or an ascorbic acid compound, and then (A) A metal is immersed in an aqueous solution containing at least one composition of (B), (C) or (D), the metal is used as a cathode, and a current is passed between the metal and an anode to electrolytically deposit the following composition. (A) a monomer containing a sulfonium group in the molecule, (B) a water-soluble polymer obtained by homopolymerization or copolymerization of the above (A) monomer, (C) a monomer of the above (A) and a radical polymerizable unsaturated monomer An emulsion or a water-soluble polymer having a sulfonium group obtained by copolymerization with (A), a coating layer obtained by copolymerizing the monomer (A) and a radical polymerizable unsaturated monomer with the inorganic particles as nuclei.
