abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutral titanium oxide sol which is stable in a neutral state and forms a colorless and transparent coating film even in unit drying, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: An acidic titanium oxide sol containing 50 to 100 parts by weight of a titanium oxide colloid and 5 to 50 parts by weight of a complexing agent for titanium ions is mixed with an alkaline component comprising at least one member of an ammonia compound, an alkali metal compound and an amine compound. 1 to 50 parts by weight is added to adjust the pH of the obtained mixture to 5 to 10 if necessary, or the pH is adjusted to 6 to After adjusting to 12, it is subjected to a deionization treatment, thereby negatively charging the titanium oxide colloid particles.
