abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a rectangular non-aqueous secondary battery having high mechanical strength. SOLUTION: In a non-aqueous secondary battery, a stacked body obtained by stacking a plurality of unit cells each having a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate stacked with a separator interposed therebetween, or the unit cell or the stacked body is spirally wound. The wound body is housed in a box-shaped can having an opening at one end and a rib on at least one of a pair of opposed walls having a maximum area, and the opening of the can is insulated by a lid. And the laminated body or the wound body is sandwiched between the lid body and the bottom wall rib of the can, or at least one of a pair of opposed wall surfaces having a wall rib.
