(57) [Problem] To provide an alkaline storage battery having improved charge / discharge cycle characteristics and a high average discharge voltage by improving a nickel sintered substrate. SOLUTION: This is an alkaline storage battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator, each of which is filled with an active material in a nickel sintered substrate, wherein the surface of the nickel sintered substrate is mainly composed of cobalt oxide and a small amount of oxidation of iron. Coated with a mixed oxide layer containing a substance. |
