abstract | (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a magneto-optical recording method which is hardly affected by frictional heat generated by sliding between a magneto-optical recording medium and a magnetic field generating device and can record information stably. An optical head and a contact-type magnetic field generator are arranged on both sides of a magneto-optical recording medium to face each other. As the magnetic field generating device, a magnetic field generating portion (center yoke) 14c not in contact with the magneto-optical recording medium, and a medium sliding portion (outer yoke) 14a, 14 in contact with the magneto-optical recording medium b), and as a magneto-optical recording medium, a disk-shaped injection-molded transparent substrate having a required preformat pattern on one side, and a second substrate carried on the preformat pattern forming surface of the transparent substrate.
