PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment method for a stainless steel, which can heat-treat a stainless steel having poor heat resistance and maintain a sufficient surface hardness even after being exposed to a high temperature, and obtained by such a heat treatment method. Provide heat-resistant stainless steel. SOLUTION: A stainless steel containing at least 0.10 to 0.60% by weight of carbon, 6.01 to 18.00% by weight of chromium, and 4.00% by weight or less of molybdenum is plasma carburized and quenched. The above object is achieved by a heat treatment method for stainless steel in which a surface portion is hardened and then subjected to high-temperature tempering to secondarily harden the surface portion. At this time, the hardness of the surface portion after the secondary curing is preferably 58 or more on a C scale of Rockwell hardness, and is excellent in heat resistance, corrosion resistance, workability, and wear resistance, and is economical and economical. Stainless steel can be obtained. |
