titleOfInvention Humidity sensor using polymer electrolyte composite membrane
abstract (57) Abstract: Provided is a humidity sensor capable of detecting a change in humidity of a monitoring environment with high responsiveness from a change in electric resistance that fluctuates depending on an amount of moisture adsorbed on an electrolyte membrane. A humidity sensor is constructed by providing platinum electrodes on both sides of a polymer electrolyte composite membrane and connecting a resistance measuring section between the electrodes. The polymer electrolyte composite membrane 14 is mainly composed of an organic polymer electrolyte of a perfluorocarbon sulfonic acid-based polymer, a water-absorbing polymer is blended with the polymer electrolyte, and the water-absorbing polymer is subjected to a crosslinking reaction. Since the electric resistance value changes with good responsiveness depending on the amount of water adsorbed on the film, a change in humidity in the monitoring environment is quickly detected.
