abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a negative electrode active material capable of providing a lithium secondary battery with a high battery capacity and also providing high safety. The negative electrode active material of the present invention is a negative electrode active material used for a negative electrode of a lithium secondary battery, and is composed of mechanically mixed carbon particles and lithium fine particles. A part is composed of a lithium carbon composite intercalated with the carbon particles and a carbon material, and is characterized in that the lithium carbon composite and the carbon material are mixed.
