abstract | (57) [Summary] An object of the present invention is to provide a tetracyclo [6.2.1.1 <3,6>. 0 <2 7>] Dodeca-4,9-diene is oxidized with ozone, then decomposed with hydrogen peroxide, and bicyclo [3. 3.0] octane-2,4,6,8-tetracarboxylic acid. SOLUTION: Tetracyclo [6. 2.1.1 <3, 6>. 0 <2,7>] dodeca-4,9 -Diene is subjected to ozone oxidation, and then oxidatively decomposed using hydrogen peroxide in a solvent to obtain bicyclo [3.3.0] octane-2,4,6,8-tetracarboxylic acid represented by the formula (2).
