abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle-shaped goethite particle powder suitable as a starting material for obtaining a spindle-shaped metal magnetic particle powder. SOLUTION: It is contained uniformly in the range of 1 to 20 atom% in terms of Co and in the range of 1 to 15 atom% in terms of Al with respect to all Fe, and has an X-ray crystal grain size ratio D 020. / D 110 Is a powder comprising spindle-shaped goethite particles having a mean major axis diameter of 0.05 to 0.20 μm. m, average minor axis diameter 0.010-0.020 μm, average axis ratio 4-10. After aging the aqueous suspension containing the ferrous-containing precipitate by the reaction between the mixed aqueous alkali solution and the aqueous ferrous salt solution for 30 to 300 minutes in a non-oxidizing atmosphere, the oxidative reaction produces spindle-shaped goethite particles. After adding 1 to 15 atom% of an Al compound in terms of Al with respect to all Fe and aging, the Co compound is converted into 1 in terms of Co with respect to Fe. It is added in the range of 2020 atomic%. |
