PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyzed water generating apparatus capable of surely sterilizing a cathode chamber in an electrolytic cell and a water supply line, and a method for cleaning the same. SOLUTION: An acidic water containing hypochlorous acid is generated by an anode chamber 12a of an electrolytic cell 11, and an alkaline water is generated by a cathode chamber 13a. The acidic water is stored in the storage tank 18, and the acidic water in the storage tank 18 is returned to the anode chamber 12a by operating the pump 17. The acidic water returned to the anode chamber 12a is further electrolyzed and sent to the first water supply line 14, the connecting portion 16, the second water supply line 15, and the cathode chamber 13a. The connection section 16, the second water supply line 15, and the inside of the cathode chamber 13a are sterilized. |
