abstract (57) [Summary] [Problem] To provide food that enhances athletic ability for healthy people such as sports enthusiasts, those who want to play sports, and those who aim to improve endurance. Provision of nutritional foods that enhance athletic ability and are effective as supplementary means for improving the competitiveness of long distance running. SOLUTION: The food which contains n-3 type polyunsaturated fatty acid and has a function of improving the maximum oxygen intake and the anaerobic threshold value by at least 3%, whereby a healthy person can improve exercise performance. The above-mentioned n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid is n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid or / and a derivative thereof. The -3 highly unsaturated fatty acid is preferably eicosapentaenoic acid and / or docosahexaenoic acid. The preferred form of the above n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids is the form of natural triglycerides, preferably fish oil. The foodstuffs described above can be liquid or solid and in each case in the form of a capsule.
