[PROBLEMS] Mammalian anti-tetrodotoxin (anti-TTX) Na channel protein that is highly expressed in adult DRG and lower ganglia of vagus nerve, not so strongly expressed in brain, spinal cord and superior cervical ganglion, and not expressed in sciatic nerve, cardiac muscle and skeletal muscle. Provision of a purified and isolated novel nucleic acid sequence encoding a protein. A novel nucleotide sequence encoding a mammalian Na channel of anti-TTX controlled by a potential difference. Also, a polypeptide product obtained by recombinantly expressing these sequences, an expression vector containing the DNA sequence, and a host cell transformed with the expression vector. A peptide based on the amino acid sequence deduced from these DNA sequences, the protein and an antibody specific to the peptide, a method for detecting and quantifying the protein, and a method using an anti-TTXNa channel as a target for treatment with a compound. |
