titleOfInvention | Sealed alkaline storage battery and method for manufacturing the same |
abstract | (57) [Problem] To provide a sealed alkaline storage battery which is capable of uniformly applying a sealing agent to the surface of a sealing gasket, thereby improving the airtightness of a sealing portion, and having excellent airtightness. SOLUTION: A sealing gasket 40 is formed by injection molding a thermoplastic resin made of nylon 6.6 into a stepped cylindrical shape having a step portion 41. The sealing gasket 40 is immersed in a sulfuric acid aqueous solution diluted to 10% by weight for about 10 minutes, and then washed to remove moisture adhering to the surface. By performing a process of immersing (etching) the sealing gasket 40 in a sulfuric acid aqueous solution, minute irregularities 42 are formed on the surface thereof. Next, a sealing agent obtained by melting asphalt cement in xylene is applied to the surface of the sealing gasket 40, and a coating 43 of the sealing agent is formed on the surface of the fine irregularities 41 of the sealing gasket 40. |
