abstract (57) [Summary] A good radiation image is obtained by controlling the temperature of an imaging panel. A temperature sensor is provided on an imaging panel that generates and outputs image data based on the intensity of irradiated radiation. The temperature of the panel 41 is detected by the temperature control circuit 56 based on the signal TS from the sensor 54, and the temperature of the panel 41 is controlled by the temperature variable element 55 so as to be within a predetermined temperature range. Panel 41 in the temperature control circuit 56 When it is detected that the temperature is outside the predetermined temperature range, an alarm signal ARM is output, and an alarm is issued based on the signal ARM. When the switch 57 is turned off, power is supplied from the battery 60 to the power source 59 for temperature control. The temperature of No. 1 falls within a predetermined temperature range, so that the performance of the panel 41 is prevented from deteriorating and a good radiation image can be obtained.
