(57) [Summary] (Modifications) [Problem] A jen composition for a tire tread, which exhibits wet traction, rolling resistance, traction during ice and snow and breakage characteristics. SOLUTION: A diene polymer or a copolymer is firstly coupled with a coupling agent which is a tin polyhalide in which part of a living diene polymer or copolymer chain produced by anionic polymerization, and then the remaining living diene polymer is obtained. Alternatively, it is formed by terminating the copolymer chain with a hydrocarboxysilane compound. The resulting diene polymers or copolymers exhibit an improved balance between raw polymer viscosity and mixed compound viscosity when compounded with silica and / or carbon black, and the cured composition is highly balanced. It is useful for use on tire treads that exhibit good wet traction, rolling resistance, and ice and snow traction. |
