titleOfInvention | Low voltage sample and hold circuit |
abstract | The present invention provides a sampling circuit and method capable of providing a full range output when operating with a very low voltage supply of, for example, about 1 volt. A current copier is added to the sample and hold circuit to avoid the need for a low threshold switching device in the sampling circuit, thus increasing the leakage of the low threshold device. Output droop is avoided. A precharge circuit is placed between the sample and hold circuit and the current storage transistor; The voltage level of the output of the sample and hold circuit is boosted to the threshold voltage of the current storage transistor or higher. The precharge circuit includes an output voltage boost capacitor that is charged before the hold cycle of the sampling circuit. The level of the voltage charged to the output voltage boost capacitor is based on the threshold voltage of the current storage transistor. |
