abstract (57) Abstract: (modified with) A new type of method for producing the succinic acid imide compound, a lubricating oil additive containing the compounds, diesel engines exhibit excellent corrosion anti-wear properties with respect to SO X A lubricating oil composition is provided. SOLUTION: This is a reaction product of an acid compound and a polyamine, and in the IR spectrum, an absorbance peak at 1640 ± 10 cm −1 (α peak) and an absorbance peak at 1700 ± 10 cm −1 (β peak) are present; α peak and β A succinimide compound having a peak intensity ratio (α peak intensity / β peak intensity) of 0.12 or more. The manufacturing method, a lubricating oil additive containing the compound, a lubricating base oil, A lubricating oil composition for a diesel engine comprising (A) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of sulfonates, phenates and salicylates of an overbased alkaline earth metal, and (B) the above-mentioned succinimide compound.
