titleOfInvention Nuclear fuel particles, nuclear fuel pellets and nuclear fuel elements for nuclear reactors
abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] Nitride nuclear fuel is excellent in that it has a high thermal conductivity and a high nuclear fuel metal density, but its reaction with water is faster than that of oxides. Due to the possibility of contact, it was not used as nuclear fuel in light or heavy water reactors. It is an object to provide a nitride nuclear fuel which does not react with water even if an accident occurs. SOLUTION: By providing a coating on a nitride nuclear fuel to prevent contact with water, even if an accident occurs, the nitride fuel does not come into direct contact with water.
