abstract | [PROBLEMS] To form a charge generating layer with excellent coatability, and to form an image with excellent characteristics using an electrophotographic photosensitive member having excellent sensitivity and electrostatic stability in repeated use. I do. SOLUTION: A charge generation layer of a function-separated type photoreceptor contains a τ-type metal-free phthalocyanine and a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer. In particular, in terms of weight ratio, τ-type metal-free phthalocyanine / vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer = 1/3 to Choose 3/1. The charge generation layer thickness is selected to be 0.1 to 0.6 μm. As the vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, copolymers of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-maleic acid, and vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol are selected. In particular, those containing at least 10% by weight or more of a vinyl alcohol component in terms of a monomer are selected. A charge generation layer is formed with a coating solution using a ketone solvent as a dispersant. The above photoconductor is applied to an image forming apparatus using a reversal development process. |
