abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a semiconductor display device having high contrast. SOLUTION: In an active matrix type semiconductor display device, when a gray scale voltage is written to a pixel TFT, a gray scale signal corresponding to a certain image information is written a plurality of times, so that a voltage applied to a display medium during a non-selection period is obtained. Hold. By doing so, a reduction in voltage applied to the display medium is minimized, and a semiconductor display device with high contrast is provided.
