titleOfInvention Panoramic viewing device
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an omnidirectional or panoramic viewer in which several cameras have a common effective optical center. SOLUTION: Several cameras are respectively arranged so as to observe different reflecting surfaces of a polyhedron such as a pyramid. Thus, each camera has a virtual optical center located within the pyramid. Several cameras are arranged such that their effective optical centers are offset from each other. This offset creates a narrow blind area that removes image distortion received from the end of the reflective surface of the pyramid.
