titleOfInvention Rolling bearing
abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a rolling bearing that significantly improves machinability by graphitizing a material and has a long life under clean lubrication or lubrication with foreign matter. SOLUTION: The material of the rolling bearing which has been carburized or carbonitrided is 0.45 to 0.9% by weight of carbon, 0.5 to 1.5% by weight of silicon, and 0.3 to 1.5% by weight of manganese. And 0.7% by weight or less of chromium, with the balance being iron and impurity elements. This material is graphitized to precipitate fine graphite, and carburized in a high vacuum of 5 Torr or less using an unsaturated hydrocarbon gas to reduce the area ratio of graphite on the surface of the finished product to 5% or less. I do. Large graphite particles having an average particle size of 5 μm or more have an area ratio of 2% or less with respect to the total graphite, and fine graphite particles having an average particle size of 2 μm or less have an area ratio of 50% or more with respect to the total graphite. The carbon content and the nitrogen content in the product surface layer are 0.9 To 1.4% by weight and 0.01 to 0.3% by weight.
