titleOfInvention | Method for producing chlorinated aromatic compound |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chlorinated aromatic compound (III) such as p-dicumyl chloride from an aromatic alcohol (I) such as p-dicumyl alcohol using a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent. Without the need for efficient production in high yield. SOLUTION: The production method of the present invention comprises the following steps (1). To (3). (1) An aromatic alcohol (I) is reacted with an organic solvent containing an alcohol solvent under contact with a protonic acid. (2) The reaction product (II) obtained in the above (1) is obtained in the form of a solution in an organic solvent mainly composed of a hydrocarbon solvent. (3) The solution obtained in the above (2) is brought into contact with hydrogen chloride to convert the reaction product (II) into a chlorinated aromatic compound (III). |
