(57) Abstract: A method for classifying a plurality of pixels into pixel groups in association with a single fluorophore or a combination of fluorophores selected from fluorophores. Each fluorophore has a characteristic excitation and emission spectrum and specific excitation and emission peaks, and the method comprises the following steps. (A) providing a plurality of pairs of broadband excitation filters and broadband emission filters; (B) Exciting each fluorophore of the pixel with light through one of the broadband excitation filters and recording the emission luminance passed through the pair of emission filters. (C) repeating step (b) for all pairs of filters so that each pixel can be represented by a vector of dimensions equal to the number of pairs of filters. (D) by using an algorithm to assess the presence of each of the plurality of fluorophores at each pixel; Classifying each pixel into a group of pixels in relation to a single fluorophore or a combination of fluorophores. |
