abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an anionic dye coating on alumina-coated silica particles, and to use it not only for a color film but also for various uses such as a color filter for a liquid crystal display and an ink jet for a color filter. A color pigment useful for color printing and the like is provided. SOLUTION: The average particle size is less than about 20 nm and 100 to 100 nm. A color pigment comprising silica particles having a surface area of 600 m 2 / g, wherein the particles are coated with alumina capable of forming a positively charged surface, and a layer of an anionic color dye is adsorbed on the alumina.
