SOLUTION: An aromatic polyester resin is melt-mixed with a foaming agent in an extruder, and the melt is extruded into a sheet in a low-pressure region and foamed, and then stretched in a flow direction and a width direction to form a foamed sheet. In the method for producing an aromatic polyester resin foam sheet, the maximum elongation index at the extrusion temperature is 5 to 50 and the tension at the elongation index 2 is 3 to 3 An aromatic polyester-based resin foam sheet is produced using an aromatic polyester-based resin modified to have a density of 0 centinewton.
