SOLUTION: It is excellent in safety and color tone containing the following components A, B and C, and dyes. It is a hair dye composition having greatly improved properties and hair wash fastness. (A) thioglycolic acid or a salt thereof, dithiodiglycolic acid or a salt thereof, a compound selected from thioglycolic acid monoglycerol ester and cysteamine (B) a compound represented by formula (I) R-OCH 2 CH 2 OCH 2 CH 2 OH (I) (wherein, R represents an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms.) (C) Natural dyes or basic dyes.
