abstract | (57) [Problem] To provide a method for producing an ultra-high purity indium compound applicable to various uses such as a fluoride glass optical fiber, a raw material for laser, and a material for optical use. SOLUTION: An aqueous solution of a soluble salt of indium is adjusted to pH = 2. And at least one of dimethylglyoxime, nitrosonaphthol or ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate in an amount of at least three times the theoretical amount of forming a chelate complex with respect to impurities in the soluble salt of indium. After the formed precipitate is separated and removed, or the precipitate is separated and removed, the precipitate is purified by solvent extraction and separated by heating and concentration or alkali neutralization. Further, hydrochloric acid is added to the solution to prepare a 0.1 to 7N hydrochloric acid solution, and solvent extraction or cuperone is added as it is, and the precipitate is separated and removed, followed by solvent extraction.
