A liquid crystal composition containing the liquid crystal (meth) acrylate compound of (1). The liquid crystal composition of the present invention is a polymerizable liquid crystal composition having a lower limit of the liquid crystal temperature at room temperature or lower, and enables photopolymerization at a temperature lower than room temperature. Therefore, it is very useful as a material for manufacturing optical elements such as an optical compensator, a polarizing beam splitter, an optical low-pass filter, and a polarizing prism having excellent transparency.
