abstract | (57) Abstract: A fuel cell system capable of preventing waste of an inert gas and a control method thereof are provided. When a fuel cell system is stopped, a hydrogen system in the system is replaced with an inert gas and a hydrogen system exhausted by the replacement is burned by a combustor. A temperature sensor 52 for detecting the combustion temperature of the fuel cell, and a control means 90 for controlling the supply and stop of the inert gas by the inert gas supply means 4 based on the measured value from the temperature sensor 52.
