abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal cell capable of visually judging a cured state of a sealing material layer and presence / absence of a defect such as protrusion of the sealing material layer and generation of a discontinuous layer. SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal cell in which a liquid crystal is sealed in a gap between a pair of electrode substrates whose periphery is surrounded by a sealing material layer, a sealing material made of a thermosetting or ultraviolet curable resin composition is provided. A colorant (A) having a different color when the sealing material is uncured and when the sealing material is cured is contained, and it is visually confirmed that the desired curing is achieved by heating the sealing material or irradiating ultraviolet rays.
