(57) [Abstract] [PROBLEMS] To be applicable to a vast water surface, to omit artificial light and forced circulation equipment, to secure economic efficiency, and to purify water and improve water quality for a long time. And improve maintainability. SOLUTION: A raft for a photocatalytic reaction is used which comprises a raft constituent material in a state of being floated on water by buoyancy, and a photocatalyst layer formed in a state where a TiO 2 body is supported on the surface of the raft constituent material. Water purification is carried out by killing microorganisms or preventing propagation of microorganisms by utilizing oxidizing power based on a photocatalytic reaction at the time of light irradiation mainly by sunlight. |
