(57) Abstract: A rare earth metal ion is separated and extracted with a high selectivity and a high extraction rate from an aqueous solution containing at least two or more rare earth metal ions selected from Pr, Nd, Y and Er. SOLUTION: When separating and extracting rare earth metal ions using a solvent containing an extraction reagent bis (2-ethylhexyl) phosphinic acid, the pH value at the time of extraction is adjusted so that the pH value after solvent extraction becomes 3 or more. This solves the above problem. |
