(57) [Problem] To provide a method and a circuit capable of performing a high-speed operation of video data. A scalar processor, a vector processor, and a bit stream processor are provided. In encoding or decoding video data, the vector processor 220 performs operations that can be efficiently performed by a single instruction multiple data processor. The bit stream processor 245 performs Huffman and RLC encoding or decoding. The bit stream processor 245 allows the computer system to process multiple data streams simultaneously. Scalar processor 210 And the vector processor 220 can be programmed to execute a single arithmetic or Boolean instruction. Bitstream processor 245 may be programmed to perform the overall video data processing operation. |
