abstract | (57) [Problem] To improve the adhesiveness of a DLC film formed as a protective film and a lubricating film on a magnetic recording medium and to improve magnetic characteristics. SOLUTION: An element of Group 3 or Group 5 is added to a DLC film to improve adhesiveness. Therefore, a DLC film having a small friction coefficient was formed on the magnetic recording medium, and the center line average roughness of the medium surface could be made 30 nm or less, so that the magnetic characteristics could be improved. |
