abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe protein having antigenicity and no hemolytic activity, which is an antigenic substance derived from pyogenic streptococci, and to provide a method for using the protein. SOLUTION: The following molecular weight (47000 ± 5000), N-terminal amino acid sequence (Val-Ser-Gly-Lys- Glu-Asn-Lys-Lys-Ser-Asp-V al-Lys-Tyr-Glu- Thr), ultraviolet absorption spectrum (lambda ma x 280 nm), a color reaction (ninhydrin reaction positive), isoelectric point pI8.5 pyogenes having the following physicochemical properties ± 1.0 A method of using a protein derived from a cocci as an antigenic substance and a method of using the protein as an antigenic substance in a method for immunologically determining an anti-suppurative streptococcal antibody in a test solution. [Effect] By using the protein as an antigen, an anti-pyogenic streptococcal antibody can be measured in a reaction-specific and simple manner, and a measurement method which can be automated can be provided.
