titleOfInvention Ultrafine short fiber for papermaking and method for producing the same
abstract (57) [Summary] A fiber having a diameter of 1 to 10 μm and a diameter of a single yarn─ The present invention provides a uniform ultrafine short fiber for papermaking having a ratio of [─] to length [L] and L / D of 300 to 2,000, and an efficient method for producing the same. SOLUTION: A composite fiber comprising an alkali-hydrolysable polymer (polymer A) and at least one component (polymer B) having a different hydrolyzability from the alkali-hydrolysable polymer is reduced to a length of 5 mm or less. The cut composite staple fiber is sealed in a bag of non-alkali hydrolyzable fiber, immersed in an alkaline aqueous solution of at least three times the weight of the composite staple fiber, and the bag and / or the alkaline aqueous solution is gently flown. The fiber has a single yarn diameter of 1 to 10 μm and is obtained by decomposing and removing an alkali-hydrolyzable polymer component (polymer A) while being exposed to a state. A uniform ultrafine short fiber for papermaking having a ratio of [D] to length [L] and L / D of 300 to 2,000, and a method for producing the same.
