abstract | [57] [Abstract] [PROBLEMS] Not only for cement reinforcing fibers, but also for general industrial materials such as ropes, fishing nets, tents, civil engineering sheets, etc., and clothing materials that can be dyed at high temperature, which require moisture and heat resistance and durability. Provided is a polyvinyl alcohol-based fiber which can be widely used and is excellent in both high strength and wet heat resistance. SOLUTION: A polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer in which a monomer having an aldehyde group or an acetalization group in a molecule is copolymerized or a normal polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer is mixed, and a fiber obtained by spinning is mixed with an acid. By the treatment, the aldehyde group or the acetalization group reacts with the hydroxyl group in the polyvinyl alcohol-based polymer to form a cross-link. |
