PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antagonist which inhibits the morphogenesis promoting action of epimorphins on epithelial cells. SOLUTION: A part of a functional domain of epimorphin (for example, the following amino acid sequence: H-Ser (Asn) -Gly-Asn-A rg-Thr-Ser-Val-Asp-Leu-Arg-Ile-Arg-Arg-Thr-Gln-His An epimorphin antagonist consisting of a polypeptide specified by -Ser-Val-Leu-OH) and having an action of substantially inhibiting the morphogenesis-promoting action of epimorphins on epithelial cells; and the epimorphin antagonist Which is a therapeutic agent for treating, diagnosing, and preventing diseases caused by excessive expression of epimorphin, and inhibiting hair growth. |
