PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop an industrially practicable method for efficiently racemizing an amine compound in which the β-position of the amino group and the carbons beyond it are asymmetric carbons. SOLUTION: A catalytic reduction catalyst is allowed to act on an amine compound having an asymmetric carbon at the β-position and beyond of the amino group, preferably in the presence of aqueous ammonia and / or in the absence of hydrogen. By acting a catalyst, the amine compound can be efficiently racemized. |
