abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce cyclopropane-1,1-dicarboxylic acid derivative by using alcoholate as a condensing agent from a malonic acid derivative and a 1,2-dihalogen compound. The present invention relates to a method for producing a 1,1-dicarboxylic acid derivative. It is characterized by the gradual addition of a solution or suspension of an alcoholate in alcohol to a mixture of this malonic acid derivative and the 1,2-dichloro compound and optionally an inert solvent.
