titleOfInvention Method for producing lipstatin and tetrahydrolipstatin
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for producing lipstatin by fermentation by using a fed-batch culture method. SOLUTION: a) aerobically cultivating actinomycetes producing lipstatin in an aqueous medium free of fat and oil, and b) linoleic acid stabilized by an antioxidant, optionally A process for the production of lipstatin by fermentation, comprising the step of adding together with caprylic acid and N-formyl-L-leucine or preferably L-leucine to the broth. In addition, lipstatin can be isolated from the broth and hydrogenated to tetrahydrolipstatin.
