titleOfInvention Positive electrode of zinc-bromine battery
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a carbon cloth used for an active layer of a positive electrode for a zinc-bromine battery from falling off, to reduce a rate of decrease in voltage efficiency in a continuous battery test, and to maintain stable characteristics. It is an object to provide a positive electrode of a zinc-bromine battery. SOLUTION: By adjusting the thickness, the number of yarns, the basis weight and the degree of activation of a phenolic raw carbon cloth, the fiber has an effective specific surface area for an electrode reaction with bromine and has an increased fiber strength. An activated carbon cloth is obtained, and the activated carbon cloth is thermocompression-bonded to a carbon plastic electrode substrate to form a positive electrode. The optimum conditions for the temperature, pressure and holding time of the press of the activated carbon cloth with respect to the electrode substrate are 19 0 ° C., 120 (kg / cm 2 ), 5 minutes.
