Image forming apparatus and method of manufacturing intermediate transfer belt thereof |
abstract |
To provide an image forming apparatus capable of easily giving a predetermined surface resistivity to an intermediate transfer belt material and suppressing a variation in the surface resistivity of the belt material. In the image forming apparatus of the present invention, a secondary transfer member includes an intermediate transfer belt (6) and a bias roll (9) for secondary transfer of an unfixed toner image on the transfer belt to a recording medium (P). And a backup roll 8 facing the bias roll and supporting the transfer belt from the back surface. The intermediate transfer belt is made of a thermosetting polyimide resin in which a conductive metal oxide having an average particle diameter of less than 1 μm is dispersed. It is preferable to mix 32 to 40 parts by weight of the metal oxide whose surface has been treated with a silane coupling agent with respect to 100 parts by weight of the polyimide resin. Such an intermediate transfer belt is manufactured by casting a stock solution of polyamic acid in which the above-mentioned metal oxide is dispersed on a metal sheet, and then joining both ends of the obtained film. |
