titleOfInvention | Battery condition tester |
abstract | Abstract: A tester (10) for measuring the state of charge of an electrochemical power supply, such as a battery or main cell (30), is disclosed. The tester comprises an electrolyte (coulomb) cell (20) and an auxiliary cell (25) connected in series thereto. The auxiliary cell (25) is a small electrochemical cell. The electrolyte (coulomb) cell (20) has no electromotive force itself and has a cathode (47) and an anode (43) made of the same material, preferably silver, and the electrolyte (45) is composed of a cathode (47) and an anode ( 43) contact at least a part of both. The tester (10) is permanently connected in parallel to the main cell (30) to be tested and is made thin enough to integrate with the label (58) of the main cell (30). Upon discharge of the main cell (30), the cathode (47) of the electrolytic cell clears in proportion to the discharge of one of the two electrodes of the main cell, and a continuous visual indication of the state of charge of the main cell (30). Provide a verifiable display. |
